The B-plus 'material' microscope is nearly  identical to the biological B-serie microscopes but have a few differences like specific objectives without cover glass correction, both incident and translucent illumination, polarisation and compensation filters to examine materials (metal, plastics, minerals, asbestos, glass, wood, chemicals)
